Apply to adopt Biscuit

About ten minutes. We ask more than a pet shop would because we are trying to get this right the first time — for you as much as for Biscuit.

Where the cat will live

Will the cat be indoors? *Indoor cats live roughly three times longer. We adopt to indoor homes only.

Do you plan to have the cat declawed? *Declawing amputates the last bone of each toe. We ask plainly because it is the one answer that ends an application on its own — and because some people say yes without knowing what it involves.

Veterinary care

How someone cared for their previous animals is the best single predictor of how the next one will be cared for.

Will you give us your vet's name and number as a reference? *First-time owners are welcome — just say so below.

How would you handle a $1,500 emergency vet bill? *There is no wrong answer. We ask because it happens, and it is better discussed now than at 2am.

Anything else

Why Biscuit?Optional, and the part we most enjoy reading.

The agreement

I accept the adoption contract terms as summarized, including the return policy, indoor-only and no-declaw terms, and the sterilization agreement required by Texas Health & Safety Code ch. 828. I will read and sign the full contract when I meet Biscuit. *

Applying is free and commits you to nothing. You will get an answer either way — including right now, if something in your answers means we cannot proceed.
