The single most useful thing you can do
Adopting saves one cat. Fostering makes room for the next one, and the one after that — which is why we ask about it before we ask for money.
Right now every cat we have lives in a single house, and the room in it is the hard ceiling on how many we can help. Each foster home lifts it.
What it costs you
Nothing
We provide food, litter, and all veterinary care. You provide the room.
How long
Weeks to months
Until they are adopted. You can set a limit and we will respect it.
What we need
A safe indoor space
Even one closed-off room works. A spare bathroom is genuinely enough.
“But I'll get attached”
You will. Everyone does. That is not a reason not to do it — that is the job working correctly. Some fosters adopt the first cat they take and never foster again, and that is a good outcome too. Most find that watching a cat they nursed back to health leave for a good home is worth the ache.
